President's Message

BWA Sisters,

"It is hard to believe it is Fall!  I love decorating my home with pumpkins and fall leaves although it is still 90 degrees outside.  I do have a large almond tree that will lose its leaves shortly, so I can pretend winter is coming, can't I?"

We started our BWA year off with great excitement, as our first speaker for the year, Vice Mayor Barbara Sharief, educated us on the proposed one cent  sales tax increase, and made a generous donation of $5,000.00 to our Scholarship Fund.  This was our goal for the entire year, so we now need to match Barbara's donation so that we  can give $10,000.00 to our deserving recipients.

Do not miss our next meeting, as our speaker is another dynamo, and more information about our first social get together set for October 25 at the Funky Budda will be forthcoming.

Finally, do not forget to bring a guest or two who would be suitable candidates for membership.  The Board is offering a great prize package for the individual who brings in the most new members by the end of 2016!

Holly Moody

President 2016-2017

NSU Director of Recreation and Wellness, Tom Vitucci: “We have had a sudden resignation from our Graduate Assistant for Operations and Staff Development. Depending upon the candidate, we are flexible in offering either an assistantship or internship that would last as long as through the end of the current academic year (May/June 2017) and possibly into the next. I am reaching out to you to see if there might be any College of Business students at the graduate level that may find this appealing and/or if you might have any contacts at local or regional universities that offer masters level programs in recreation or sports management where we could share this opportunity.
