Meet Inspiration – Our 2019-2020 BWA Foundation Scholarship Recipients

Please attend our June 10^th meeting to meet this year’s five scholarship recipients.  Our member’s generosity both with their gifts to the foundation and our monthly raffles have made it possible for these five women to continue their higher education.

We have a total of 13 applicants this year.  Seven of them are applying to renew their scholarships, and the remaining six are new applicants.  Five of the applicants either are attending or have been accepted at Nova Southeastern University.  The others are attending or been accepted at Florida State University, Florida Atlantic University, Atlantic Technical College, the University of Miami, Howard University and Florida Polytechnic Institute.

These women’s academic areas range from Biochemistry, to medical school, from Cyber Security to Communication Science & Disorders, from Dental Assisting to a Master’s in Public Administration, and architectural/civil engineering.

In addition, I am pleased to announce that one of last year’s recipients, Shakerra Bartley has been awarded a Fulbright to study abroad, and will be attending the meeting and speak about how our scholarship gave her the chance to win this distinguished program award.

These women are truly inspirational.  They will tell you their story and in the process will make you proud of what we do as an organization.
